What's Up With Roots?

Roots Kitchen & Cannery has been going through many changes. Patrick has been busy opening a new canning facility since we moved out of our original kitchen on Bond Street in Bozeman. Orion has been keeping up with our rapidly increasing sales and Willi has been working on our new marketing strategy and pumping out pies for the Jackson Hole area. With so much going on we wanted to use this first post on our revamped blog to let you know what else we’ve been up to and what is to come!

Giving something back

On June 4th, 2020 we started a new giving program in response to the continuing protests surrounding the death of George Floyd. At Roots, we feel that our role as a company is to use our privilege to help others and try and make the world a better place. Going forward, all profits from our online sales every Thursday will be donated to a social justice organization. Each month we will give to a different organization, for a total of twelve different organizations per year. The organization for July 2020 is the Montana Racial Equity Project.  They are a non-profit and non-partisan organization that works with individuals, groups, organizations, educational institutions, and businesses to promote and create opportunities to build equity and justice in Montana. All you need to do to show your support is order some delicious jam or pickles this Thursday!

You can also donate directly to the Montana Racial Equity Project here: https://www.themtrep.org/how-to-help/donate.html

Where To Buy Roots Pies This Summer

Though you may not be able to find us at Farmers Markets around Bozeman and Jackson just yet due to the continuing danger of COVID-19, you can absolutely pick up a pie or two from our friends at Sweet Cheeks Meats in Jackson. Get our pies fresh Tuesday and Friday mornings while they last, and pick up a jar of pickles to go with your grilling or backcountry BBQ while you’re there! You can also shop for Roots online or visit one of the other incredible vendors selling our products. We hope to be back at our local farmers’ markets soon - sign up for our email list or follow us on Facebook and Instagram to find out the latest news on when and where to get your next pie fix.
